Supplies:
  • Damask by La Mode®: #1159 (3 cards)
  • Damask by La Mode®: #1153 (3 cards)
  • Brown pillow
  • Woven linen fabric to coordinate: ¼ yard pattern, ¼ yard solid
  • 2 trims to coordinate: tassel trim, 1” flat ribbon trim
  • Needle and thread
  • Fabric glue (optional)
  • Paper and pencil
  • Scissors
  • Iron

Instructions:
  1. Draw a simple leaf pattern on paper, cut out. Trace 6 times on pattern fabric. Cut out. Attach to top half of pillow in pairs.
  2. From solid fabric, cut three 3” x 10” strips and three 2 ½” x 10” strips. On one side of each strip, pull out several long threads, leaving about ⅜” of fringe. With needle and thread, make running stitches along the other long side of a strip. Pull thread from both ends to gather. Tie threads together, forming a tight circle. Repeat for all remaining strips.
  3. Stack a large circle, a small circle and a large button. Stitch to pillow to make a flower over top of one set of leaves. Repeat for two more flowers.
  4. Cut a 4” wide strip that is the width of the pillow. Fold long edges under ½”. Press with iron. Attach to pillow under flowers. Attach flat ribbon trim in the center of fabric strip.
  5. Stitch 6 small buttons below fabric strip.
  6. Attach tassel trim below buttons, near bottom edge of pillow.
